Taking it from the Page... to the STAGE
TPF invites selected playwrights each year to Telluride for a week in mid July. Playwrights have the opportunity to develop plays with the collaboration of writers, actors, and directors during an intensive, week-long workshop.
At the end of the week we showcase the plays to the public in staged readings. By encouraging creative interaction with the audience with a post reading discussion, we help the playwright on her or his journey.
Plays fine-tuned at TPF have blossomed in to big productions in larger locales, such as the Abingdon Theatre in NYC, Paragon Theatre in Denver, The Green Festival in NYC 2011 and, in 2012, Blues Theatre in Chicago.
TPF Participants will have housing provided by our presenting sponsor SilverStar Luxury Properties, or will reside in private homes. We are a small, intimate festival.
